Previously Known as Smith Island, Bald Head Island is the east coast's northern most Tropical Region. It features limited use of gas vehicles but rather focuses on electric golf cart transportation around majestic tree lined roads and trails. Bald Head Island enjoys tropical palms and lagoons with natural inhabitant like alligators, turtless, and cranes. It sets at one of the most notorious points on the east Coast known as Cape Fear where the islands mountian ridge runs out into the ocean to create underwater shoals which created some of the most shipwrecks and hazardous waters known. Today Bald Head is inhabited by residents from all over the world. Politicians, Professional Athletes, and World Leaders, all come together to enjoy the temperate climate and laid back lifestyle. The Island is served only by a private ferry system or boat. Bald Head Island is a secret that not too many have found out about.
